For Immediate Release:
San Diego County's historic gold rush town of Julian will host its first annual
"Julian Classic Motoring Show" on July 3, 2004 at Menghini Winery.
Select classic touring and vintage racing cars from the turn-of-the-century through
the 1950s are being invited to the show. Members of the Petersen Museum and the
Historic Motor Sports Association are expected to take part, along with special
vintage automobiles and motorcycles from San Diego County.
A highlight for participants will be the Saturday night "Great Gatsby
Reception" at the Pine Hills Lodge. Participants and their guests will be
encouraged to wear 1920's era dress, or white clothing, in the spirit of "The
Great Gatsby."
Southern California owners of vintage race or classic touring cars who would
like to display their car on Saturday and drive in Sunday's parade can get more
information by contacting the Julian Classic Motoring Society at julianautoshow@netscape.net
or by calling 760-765-2072.
The public is invited to view the cars and meet with the owners at the grounds
of the Menghini Winery from 10am to 4 pm on July 3rd, and also after the Julian
July 4th Independence Day Parade. Spectators and participants who wish to stay
the night in one of Julian's local hotels or bed-&-breakfast homes may
get lodging information at 760-765-1857.
The Classic Automobile Show and Independence Day Parade are free to spectators.
