Dear Sports Car Aficionados,

This Newsletter will be used primarily to announce the launching of our colorful new and improved web site: www.vintage-sportscar-photos.com!

It has been in the planning stages for a long time and is now ready for viewing. We have added color to the home page and doubled the amount of photographs to view. We’ve kept all the original photographs and added many new drivers and cars to the list.

There are new search tools to find specific drivers, marques, road courses and years.

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. We have a survey live at the link below (limited to 100 responses). You can also email directly to me at allen@vintage-sportscar-photos.com

Take the 5 Question Redesign Survey

As always if there are any drivers or cars that you do not see on the site, please let me know. I would be happy to see if I have what you are looking for and send you jpg scans for your inspection

Photographs in New Book: “The Porsche 904, 906 & 910 in the Americas” by Jerry Pantis

Featured in Hemmings Photo Essay

Event: Sports Car Concours - Palos Verdes, California

A little bit of this and a little bit of that...

Photographs in New Book: “The Porsche 904, 906 & 910 in the Americas” by Jerry Pantis
I was fortunate enough to have my few 904 pictures included in the new Jerry Pantis book “The Porsche 904, 906 & 910 in the Americas.” It has been well received by the public and critics alike.

I will be working with Jerry on two more of his up coming books, one on the Porsche Spyder and one on Ferrari, with more than 200 vintage photographs used.

Have a look at his web site www.sportscarracinghistory.com or contact him at jpantis@hotmail.com

Hemmings Photo Essay
For the third time Hemmings “Sports and Exotic Cars” will be featuring a photo essay of my pictures. Previously they have featured the Speedster and MGA. Now it will be “Cherry Bombs,” the fascinating little Abarth.

It will be in the October issue, which will be on the newsstand in late August. I also supply the words for the article, but fortunately they use a liberal amount of editing to make it work.

I was especially glad they chose the Abarth because for four years I owned one of Carlo’s 850 Zagato Double Bubbles. Nothing but fun to drive. At a time when gas/petrol was 40 cents a gallon, I got 40 MPG. Now we have an RV that gets 6 MPG and it costs 5 bucks a gallon. Bad timing I guess.

Event: Sports Car Concours – October 11, 2008 – Palos Verdes, California
For you who reside in the Los Angeles area I would like to recommend a Sports Car Concours that will take place at the South Coast Botanic Gardens in Palos Verdes. A beautiful location and lots of great cars and drivers.

Many of the Fabulous Fifties Group of guys and gals who raced and wrenched in the 1950’s will attend. It will be held on October 11, 2008.

Closing
I want to take this time to thank my web designer, Lisa Kuhn, that name sounds familiar, for all her great work and dedication to making our site so outstanding. It is her design completely. My part consisted of a nod of approval whenever she asked how I liked something. If you have any web site needs she can be reached at www.soundviewmarketing.com

(Note from Web Designer: The entire photographer press pass collage background was done by my Dad - The Photographer - made from his original press passes. That is what I based my design on. – Lisa Kuhn)

Now please enjoy our new site,
