MotoRacing
now available on DVD to be viewed on your computer!
MotoRacing
was a tabloid published from October 1955 through January 1964. MotoRacing
was started by Gus Vignolle and Maury Powell, and Gus always presented his unique
view of the sports car racing world. MotoRacing was never dull!
MotoRacing
was published in Los Angeles, and its primary focus was on Southern California
sports car racing. As drivers like Phil Hill, Dan Gurney, and Richie
Ginther started racing internationally, MotoRacing went along with them. Writers
such as Henry Manney III filed reports from around the world.
All
204 issues of MotoRacing are on one DVD. Every one of the 2,107
pages were scanned Bob Norton, and are stored as Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) files. The free Adobe
Acrobat reader is available from www.adobe.com
if you don't have it already. The Adobe Acrobat reader is available for a wide
variety of computer platforms. These scans have been checked on Windows and Macintosh,
but should work on Linux and other systems as well.

In
addition to the page scans, an index has been created so that you can find what
you're looking for on the DVD. The index is also in Adobe Acrobat form,
and has bookmarks so you can jump directly to the index topic of interest. In
the early days of MotoRacing the detailed race results were printed, including
car numbers, all finishers, as well as the reasons for cars not finishing. This
detail was reduced in later years, but the results will still be useful. All the
available results are saved as JPEG files saved by race track and date in separate
folders.
